Doggy Dare Care Frequently Asked Questions

Our doggy care day is an invaluable service if you work or need your dog looked after whether it be regularly, for a one-off event, a whole day or half-day.

Here's some FAQs relating to Barehams Doggy Day Care...

  • What is Day Care for dogs?

Doggie day care is a place your dog can socialise with other dogs whilst playing and receiving exercise. Dogs are pack animals and day care gives them a chance to be part of a pack within a safe, secure and controlled environment. It stops dogs becoming bored or suffering with separation anxiety.

  • What if my bitch is in season?

Barehams policy is that no dogs are brought into our facility whilst in season.

Should a dog come into season whilst with us, then they will be separated from all the other dogs and quarantined until collection. We would prefer to only take spayed bitches. However, please speak to the staff for more information.

  • Can I bring my puppy to Barehams?

Barehams are able to take puppies from 4 months old provided they have had all of their vaccinations. It is advisable to ensure your puppy has been treated for worms and fleas.

  • What if my dog is ill?

If your dog is taken ill whilst at Barehams they will be taken quarantined and you will be informed immediately of the situation. Depending on the severity of the situation we will ask you to collect your dog at the earliest convenience. If veterinary treatment appears to be required we will seek your agreement, however, if you are not available we will take your dog to the vets as a precaution.

  • Do you accept any dog?

We are very particular about which dogs are allowed to use the Day Care facility. As this is an ‘open play’ environment it is extremely important that, wherever possible, the dogs’ temperaments are suitable for Day Care. Each dog will be assessed prior to entering the facility.

  • Do all dogs mix together?

We do have segregated areas for puppies and small dogs to suit their size.
